Meet the 2012-2013 Glue Dots Design Team!

Glue Dots Design Team

Congratulations to our newest Dottesses!

Dawn Barrett

Dottess Dawn

I'm a stay at home mom who happens to be a very good juggler: mothering, coaching, volunteering (here, there, and everywhere)... along with ink, paper, scissors and dimensionals (I'm very careful when I juggle scissors, mind you!). Where other homes have a dining room, we have an art room. All my supplies and tools are available to my kids and their friends (Yes, sleepovers tend to have a couple of craft projects as well). If I'm home, you will probably find me there. One of my favorite things about crafting is that I can change my style on projects to match the season, the recipient, or even just my mood that day! While papercrafting has been a focus of mine in recent years, I have been branching out into home decor and fun gift ideas. From time to time, I also like to get back to my roots: sewing. You might call me the Jill of All Crafts because I don't have one main love. Being crowned a Dottess is a way to great start my holiday crafting!

Donna Budzynski

Dottess Donna

Hi.........my name is Donna Budzynski also known as MemesArtPlace. Some ask where the name of MemesArtPlace came from, well it was from my first grandchild. She would call me Meme instead of grandma and I had a art room. We spent many hours in this art room together and one day she said to her mom "We worked in MemesArtPlace today". Seemed so appropriate to name my blog "MemesArtPlace" so I did. I have a fantastic husband who is supportive in my crazy world of arts, including my messy desk! We have two grown daughters and three grandchildren.

I have been crafting forever! Yep, that's how old I am - forever! I have and still do paint,
quilt, sculpt, cut wood, build things. Then I added paper crafting. I started paper crafting
about 6 years ago. I officially collect paper, but don't tell anyone! I love to find items at the thrift stores that I can recycle and use them with paper to create a new look. I am currently designing for Cosmo Cricket and I am also a design team
member of The Altered Alice.

I am so excited to be a new member of the Glue Dots family and I hope you will join me in this new journey.

Gabriela Delworth

Gabriela Delworth

Living in one of the most multicultural cities in the world I find inspiration in every corner. I enjoy being involved in a variety of creative projects. Today I dedicate my creative skills to the design of products and tutorials for leading arts and crafts manufacturers. I also write informative articles, designs creative projects, step by step tutorials and photography for national and international publications in print and online {including books}.

I really enjoy experimenting with different techniques and materials such as: altered art, collage, decorative painting, digital & hybrid scrapbooking, floral crafts, graphic design, fabric painting, fashion art, gift wrapping, mixed media recycled/re-purposed/up-cycling crafts and paper crafts. If I had to describe my style I would call it “colourful, fresh, and simple”. I earned a graphic design diploma that introduced me to History of Art, Colour Theory and Drafting. I love using my graphic design skills in my blog and website. I also love photography and use it to take the best photos of my work for my galleries.

Working as a Craft Product Designer my mission is to promote creativity among people and let them unleash their imagination. I want them to energize “their creative juices”, get inspired and make something with me. Developing and teaching my creative classes and workshops allow me to share my creativity. Most of my classes are held in Toronto but I also love travel teaching. You will also find me teaching at community centers and retirement residences. I am also a Gift Wrapping Stylist and love embellishing packages in a very artistic way. I teach workshops each year during the Holiday Season to private groups, the public and retailers. I write a blog “Gabriela Delworth Designs” where I share free craft tutorials, talk about the projects I am working on at my studio, informative articles, events and workshops.

Holly Gagnon

Holly Gagnon

I live in Las Vegas, NV with my husband of 13 years along with my 8 year old son, Jonas and my 5 year old diva-daughter, Reese. I previously worked as a Registered Dietitian who has been lucky enough to hang up her lab coat and become a SAHM. I love to make pretty things out of paper! I heart double-sided paper, buttons, ribbons, twine, embellishments, inks and anything I can make 3D. My paper crafting style is in the small details. I like to use lots of textures by working with denim, canvas, burlap and embossing. I started out as a scrapbooker over 8 years ago and now my passion has turned more towards card making, party/home decor and my true favorite, creating unique personal gifts for friends and family. Excited to be chosen as a Glue Dottess and look forward to inspiring others and promoting the Glue Dots brand.

Smitha Katti

Dottess Smitha

Hi everyone! My name is Smitha Katti, and I live in Minnesota. I am a wife to a really amazing guy, who understands that sometimes I need to be creative - even if that means I stay up until 2 am in the night and leave the dishes dirty in the sink. We have two adorable daughters, a 3 year old and an one year old. As a mom, my days revolve around my two little girls, and they make my life beautiful and worthwhile. As an artist, color is in every aspect of my life… And this color translates into art. I find inspiration everywhere and am constantly doodling and jotting down thoughts onto whatever scrap paper is available at hand. I have a long list of ideas in my head, and am always making something in my art room… I love crafts of all kind: scrapbook layouts, cards, home decor, altered items-anything goes. I love to sew and knit/crochet as well. There simply isn't enough hours in the day for me to be creative!! I currently design for Fiskars and Jessica Sprague. I am also a writer for Scrapstreet.com. I am so happy to be joining the Glue Dot's team!!!

Anita Scroggins

Anita Scroggins

I am Anita, and I am so lucky to be able to spend my days crafting away. I have two beautiful daughters who are grown now and starting their own lives. I am married to Mike who is happy to let me spend a lot of time in my studio as long as I pay the cable bill every month! I love to cook, garden, scrapbook, sew, and rip out the occasional wall here at the house. I have spent the last two years remodeling my house, and I am almost done thank goodness! I have always been involved in crafting in one way or another. When I was a kid I had a love affair with office supplies so I guess it is no surprise that paper crafting is such a big part of my life.

My style is ever evolving, I like trying new things often so that I keep my projects fresh. One thing that remains a constant with me is that I do not like white space! My motto is “less is less and more is best”. I really like to pile it on! Mini-albums are one of my favorite projects, and I also like to make traditional albums, and party decor for those special events. I find the art of paper crafting to be limitless. There is nothing you can’t do with a little paper and glue. I have been fortunate to meet so many wonderful people through this hobby and have been able to travel to some wonderful places. I can’t wait to see where I head next!

I live in the Southern United States, am married and have three kiddos. My husband is my best friend.  In crafting, I'm inspired by the changing seasons.  I like to create things that I can use which often leads me to consider the coming holiday, birthdays and colors of the season. I also like to browse craft stores and get inspired by different crafty supplies that I see.  Besides being a the Glue Dot Dottess, I run Joy's Life.com. I have a line of craft stamps and a DVD, Cricut Vinylology, that teaches people how to use vinyl with their Cricut. I'm also on the Lori Whitlock Design Team where I create using .svg files. Overall, when I'm not crafting…I'm thinking about crafting. LOL!

Michelle Philippi

Dottess Michelle

I’m a working mom, wife to a fantastic guy who supports all of my crazy adventures, and mother of two adorable redheads. I'm busy busy, but at the same time I strive to be Super Mom.  In my “spare time” you will find me and all my chubby cheeks plopped down at my craft table making cards, goodie bags for the kids’ parties, school, and church functions, and making gift tags too.  I’m all about the heartfelt and handcrafted – but at the same time I’m all about the quick & easy. I don’t have the time or the patience to make anything that takes longer than about a half an hour.  I’m also super super cheap frugal.  I don’t believe in spending money just because we have it. While my husband and I both work full-time, I am mindful of the fact that either one (or both) of us could be unemployed tomorrow. I am a master couponer, always on the lookout for the cheap or free to add to my family’s stockpile. I love making little gift packages, and it's even more fun when those things were super cheap or free.  It's the thought that counts!

Laurel Seabrook

Laurel Seabrook

I am very happy to continue on as a Glue Dots Dottess. I am married with two teenage daughters and I teach grade one. I have a very busy and full life but my crafting is what I need at the end of the day as my ‘down time’.  Throughout my years I have always been a crafter. I have dabbled in sewing, beading and painting but my passion is definitely paper crafting and my absolute favorite paper crafting supply without a doubt is pattern paper , I love pattern paper! I have been seriously scrapbooking for about 12 years. I love how satisfying it is to not only capture the moments with great photos but to create a layout that perfectly tells the story. I also enjoy card making as I love how quickly and easily it is to create something personal for a friend or family member. Finally, another passion of mine is garage sale-ing and shopping at thrift shops. I love to use my scrapbook supplies to re-purpose these things for myself or as a gift for others.

I am very fortunate to have been and continue to be rewarded in the paper crafting industry and feel very blessed for this. I have been published in several Northridge Media magazines, Paper Crafts and Canadian Scrapbooker. I have also been a member of some fabulous Design Teams and am currently on the following: Pebbles, Nikki Sivils, Momenta, Ribbon Carousel, Jessica Sprague and Lessology.

I have a blog that I try to post to daily and I am active on Facebook. I am looking forward to the upcoming year with Glue Dots, I love my Glue Dots!

Samantha Taylor

Samantha Taylor

I am a wife to an amazing husband and stay at home mom to 2 wonderful little boys. I started paper crafting in 2001 when my mom took me to a stamping class at the local recreation center when I was home on break from college. In 2009 I started scrapping, and a whole wide world of paper crafting was opened up to me. My style tends to be clean with lots of layers. I love mixing patterned papers.I don't believe paper crafting should be confined to paper alone. I love making cards, scrapbooks, mini albums, party decorations, and home decor items. I am constantly challenging myself to step outside my comfort zone when it comes to color, style, and current trends. Sometimes it pays off, and sometimes it's a bit of a mess, but it's always fun! Besides paper crafting and my love of Glue Dots®, I also enjoy spending time with my family, knitting, spinning, photography, and reading.
