Handmade Cards in a Tin

This delightful card set is a great gift for a favorite friend or new neighbor.

Supplies

  • 1" Glue Lines
  • Craft Glue Dots
  • Mini Glue Dots
  • Ultra Thin Glue Dots
  • White, pink, green cardstock (Hero Arts)
  • Orange textured cardstock (Bazzill)
  • Pattern paper (The Paper Company)
  • Ribbon (Offray)
  • Flowers (Prima and Wright's)
  • Chip board frame (Maya Road)
  • Stamping supplies (Hero Arts)
  • Versamark Ink (Hero Arts)
  • White embossing powders
  • 1 large pink button and 2 small orange buttons (Buttons Galore)
  • Corner punch (EK Success)
  • Ghost letters (an "h" and an "i")
  • Tin; recycled from an AOL CD mailing

Instructions

"Happy Birthday" Card:

  1. Stamp the numbers in the lower right portion of a pink card with Versa Mark; emboss with white powder.
  2. Stamp the "birthday greeting" with green ink onto white cardstock, trim closely and set aside.
  3. Trim pieces of pattern paper (patterned with circles), and adhere to the card just above the numbers using 1" Glue Lines.
  4. Block the rest of the card with scraps of green and orange cardstock.
  5. Secure the "birthday greeting" onto the orange portion of the card using 1" Glue Lines.
  6. Secure the ribbon using 1" Glue Lines and tie ribbon in a knot.
  7. Adhere the flowers using Craft Glue Dots.
  8. Round the corners of the card.

 

"You're a Great Friend" Card:

  1. Block a card with pattern and color cardstocks and secure a ribbon vertically using 1" Glue Lines.
  2. Stamp a greeting with green ink on white cardstock and trim to create a strip.
  3. Secure the greeting to the lower portion of the card using 1" Glue Lines.
  4. Adhere a white flower and pink button to the center of the card using Craft Glue Dots.
  5. Tie a small bow with green ribbon and attach to the flower with Mini Glue Dots.
  6. Next, tie the orange button with thread and secure it and the flower to the card using Craft Glue Dots.
  7. Round the corners of the card.

 

"Thank You" Card:

  1. Block a pink card with green and orange cardstock and striped pattern paper.
  2. Stamp "Thank You" with Versamark Ink and emboss with white powder.
  3. Adhere ribbon across the entire card just above the striped pattern paper using 1" Glue Lines.
  4. Add thread to an orange button and secure the button to a white flower using Craft Glue Dots.
  5. Secure the flower and button to the card with a Craft Glue Dots.
  6. Round the corners of the card.

 

Tin Cover:

  1. Measure the tin and cut cardstock to fit.
  2. Block green and orange cardstock onto white cardstock, round the corners and secure to the tin using 1" Glue Lines.
  3. Cut a strip of the striped pattern paper and secure it vertically using 1" Glue Lines.
  4. Cover a chipboard frame with coordinating paper with Ultra Thin Glue Dots.
  5. Stamp a greeting with green ink and adhere to the back of the frame with Craft Glue Dots.
  6. Run a ribbon through the openings of the frame and adhere with 1" Glue Lines.
  7. Adhere ghost letters and a flower with Craft Glue Dots.
